As part of a grant with the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) and Fall River Health Services, we can offer up to 10 students a free 3three-credit-hourcourse this fall that counts towards health degree programs and/or towards elective credits at any SDBOR university and likely others, too. Ideally, we would like to offer this to about 3 to 4 students from the Hot Springs area. There is a survey for the students to complete.

We are thrilled to announce that the University of South Dakota, in partnership with the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organization (SDAHO) and Fall River Health Services, will offer a FREE online career exploration course this fall! The 3-credit hour course, HSC 262 Health Careers Exploration, will take place from August 25, 2025, to December 17, 2025. This fully asynchronous course offers the flexibility to learn without the need for real-time meetings. The credits you earn can be applied toward elective requirements at any public university in South Dakota and will also fulfill a requirement for select health programs at USD. This course is perfect for anyone interested in a career in healthcare, as it focuses on helping students identify their personal goals and assess their talents. Participants will explore various career options and develop essential skills, including job searching, resume writing, cover letter creation, and mock interview techniques. Additionally, students will create academic plans tailored to their career pathways. Both current high school students and graduates are welcome to enroll. Thanks to funding from a Rural Health Network Development grant, a limited number of free spots are available.
